Went here for my birthday dinner and the night started well, ordered our 2 kids meals and 4 adult meals and a couple of starters, kids meals brought out quickly as requested and our 1st round of drinks served quickly also but this is where it all came to a stop, place wasn't that busy but was starting to fill up, 40 minutes later our starters arrived after asking the staff where they were numerous times and the another good 30 minutes later our mains arrive after asking once again. What to say about the mains.....hmmmm what a total let down after waiting so long for them to arrive, actually being honest 1 main was delicious the Braised Beef Cheek other than that all the meals were a disaster, i myself had the Grooves Mixed Grill Plate this dish was a major let down every piece of meat on the dish was over cooked and completely dry and the salad looked 3/4 days old. I thought long and hard about complaining on the night but after waiting so long for food that was totally disappointing I just asked for the bill so we could leave, close to $200 for absolutely disastrous food I was now at a point if I was going to complain I could see it would not go well for the poor staff member that had to deal with me. I paid the bill and the staff member asked how was the food and i said "absolutely terrible and I wont ever be returning" and then left. So many more options close by than the Groove Train would not recommend to anyone!!!!

Went for dinner tonight (Friday night) with my family, we ordered the fisherman's Basket... Oh so very disappointed, EVERYTHING was so overcooked, prawns the size of a 10 cent piece and the scallops about the size of a 5 cent piece, these were so overcooked they were like cardboard, the squid was so overcooked it was like rubber. fish wasn't too bad but had absolutely no taste what so ever. The drinks were pretty Pale in the context that yes you could taste the coke, BUT where was the turkey mixer... Will I go back... probably NOT, recommend to a friend.. NO

The service was excellent and the surroundings were spacious. The menu was extensive with something to suit every taste. My meal choice was the club sandwich which came with hot chips. The meal was of a good size, very filling. The triple breads came with a filling of chicken, mayo, fried egg, lettuce and bacon. All making a tasty combination that was lovely and hot. Two plates to be shared with the table were the mixed meat grill plate and the fisherman's basket. The mixed grill meats were served on skewers and had a large variety of meats including lamb, chicken and sirloin steak served with salad and chips. The fisherman's basket had lovely marinated prawns and beer battered fish and peppered calamari served with salad and chips. The service staff were cheerful and helpful and kept our drinks topped up.

The best part of my meal was the free pint due to being forgotten about. Waited 20 minutes plus just for our order to be taken and they weren't even that busy.Pretty typical food for most places, tasting plate of deep fried egg plant, deep fried squid and ricotta/rice balls which were ok.Meals were good size but a spaghetti meal usually is but damn pricey for what it was (few prawns, 1 scallop and 3 green lip mussels. Just an oily disaster really with no flavour. The kids spaghetti bolognaise was the highlight meal and my son didn't eat it so I enjoyed it. I may return just to try the parmy one day.

Don't get me wrong the staff were lovely, but food a let down. The Nasi Goreng was put in a small bowl, so hard to eat out off. Not too sure why it had bean sprouts all on the top as decoration but it did. Wouldn't recommend. The kids meal was a good value for $12.50!! Decent serving and was the best dish out of our whole meal. The waiter gave discount on my cocktail, plus a free pint and hot chocolate for the little one, because he seen us waiting, just couldn't serve us, because he was busy and the only one most of the time on the floor. The place does take away so next time will give that ago, rather then going in.

We were looking for a restaurant to take some overseas visitors and this place scored highly on Trip Advisor so we thought we would check it out.The place was pretty full and was quite busy. It had a nice atmosphere though and the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu is quite large and I'm sure there is food available for most people. The drinks came quickly but unfortunately from the time we ordered it took an hour to get the food to the table. Despite the wait, the food was good and everyone (table of 6) commented on the quality of the food. It seemed reasonably priced as well. I would recommend to others so long as you are prepared to wait if it is busy!

We have been here 3 times now. The staff are always friendly and attentive. Some food has been better than others but overall a very good experience each time.

Ordered Nachos as the Beef Ragout wasn't available. Had tiny bit of cheese and guacamole tasted very bad. Too many nachos with no cheese or sauce. It was like they just stuffed as many plain corn chips on with no flavor and thought 'that'll do'.Seafood Red Curry has old fishy taste with dribble of sauce, which didn't taste like curry. The manager was nonchulant but that was all. My hubby had the steak here, that was terrible, tough. Sausages are bad too.The gluten free creamy pasta was a bit hard but the sauce was good when we had that so i'll stick with that if we go there again. They have gluten free options which is great but the quality is very hit and miss.
