A charming, tastefully decorated restaurant with lovely ambience. Classy and everything one looks for in a special dining venue. The Entrees were really well presented and very tasty. The Mains could have been a lot better. TheLamb Rump was very fatty and chewy, the Belly Pork was not crispy and quite fatty. Chef should see to a new butcher. The Desserts were creative, yummy and well executed. The service was brilliant.

After being greeted by a fast-talking, unshaven early 20's waiter with "Hey guys......." it was a series of ongoing disappointments. The manager storms through the door in the first three minutes muttering under his breath about not being able to please anyone (obviously based on another guest sitting outside) and then proceeds to serve us a piece of complimentary bread, the size of a 50 cent piece?! We order a drink, and then our meals. When my partner booked, she was adamant that we would need a vegetarian meal and was assured it was no problem. This was supported by our waiter..eventually......after he realised it was me who was the vegetarian (don't assume, my friend?!) He offered "provided you trust us, our chef will create you something special"! Entrees were good, and I eagerly awaited my "special" main meal. In between, our fast-talking waiter interrupted us twice, without permission, to see if we needed anything else. Our drinks were half-full, we had water and...yeh, no, thanks! The moment arrived, out comes our main meals. I take a look at my partners...so far, so good and then mine is placed in front of me. My "Special" meal was a main-sized version of my entrée. Wait...it gets better. The Manager comes over to offer his apology and says "leave it with me, ill get chef onto it immediately and create you another meal". Sorry for this...we hope you'll come back again and give us another chance?! Hmmmm. So, after 5-minutes and my partner uncomfortably starting without me, they dish me up a plate of broccoli and cauliflower florets tossed with olive oil and three pieces of bistro lettuce as a garnish!!!! Oh yeh...and tried to charge me $27 for it!!!! It continued on....poor service, continued delays etc. The only reason I give it a poor, not terrible rating is because they discounted our bill (at my request) and we were finally able to escape. After a 10/10 experience on multiple occasions at Spicers Hidden Vale, we had high hopes. Sadly, we were disappointed. Save your money...there are dozens of better options, with suitable wait staff, vegetarian / vegan options and somewhere to park.

We at several meals here while staying at the hotel. Is quite elegant. Too expensive for what it delivered. A small menu. There is a breakfast menu and the chef struggled for to change that. At one point, I asked for a plain omelet with toast and they could not produce that. Had the lamb at one meal which was excellent. The wagyu braised beef was OK. Service friendly and prompt. The wines by the glass were fine but the pours were surprisingly small especially given the price. For breakfast the granola was nice but they did not offer anything except full fat milk

Very quiet on a Monday night which made it very pleasant for me, who finds it difficult to hear conversation in noisy places. Quite expensive but very different cuisine and reasonable portions. The photo of the Story Bridge shown on the website can only be seen from one table on the back verandah, so don't expect that view from all tables. Service was really good and we took advantage of a complimentary bottle of wine offer and it was a reasonable bottle too, three choices available. The Vegemite ice-cream was too bizarre to avoid and I'd not heard of that one before. We went with four people and we did not feel bothered by any other patrons. Pretty good night overall.

What a terrible experience we had for my daughters hen's night. We had to ask many times for tea/coffee. Even for a glass to drink from when champaine was ordered, was a challenge in its self. The request for a clean plate to eat the sweets from never happened. . The staff came at 1450 to tell us that we needed to be off the premise at 16:00 due to a wedding being held. This, all before they served our sweets. Sweets arrived around 15:30. They were very busy intertupting a speech to stand infront of the speaker to run a power cable .At 1545 we all were trying to pay a bill and once again spoken to rudely why we hadn't completed the account . Having 19 people does taken time.

Came for ladies high tea. Beautiful heritage "Queenslander" building with easy street parking. We sat on the deck which was delightful. High tea, which came with a glass of bubbles and bottomless tea & coffee, was delicious but dainty servings..much less than other high teas I have attended previously and admittedly I left hungry. Service ok.

Online booking is easy and works well. Dining is on the verandah, which is pleasant, except that it was cold and some blinds were closed but not others. We were told heaters were on, but apparently they take time to warm up. Food was fine, but nothing out of the ordinary. Service was mixed (3-4 waiters, some better than others). For example we ordered 2 glasses of wine - one guest was given a glass of wine, the other was only given an empty glass. Overall, it was sufficently pleasant, but forgettable which is such as shame, because the staff, on previous visits, used to make you feel that they were delighted to see you. Not so anymore. Additionally, a large group came in and were put in a central position. They were extremely boisterous which seemed to result in a number of couples, dining together, heading off early. Overall the restaurant seemed to have lost its boutique feel. There are definitely better around for the price and ambiance. Maybe they are better at mid week lunches.
