I had the unfortunate luck of calling into this place for a quick lunch. I orderd the $5.50 special that included chips, nugets, a burger, a drink and a drumstick desert. The chips and nuggets were warm not hot, the burger was "COLD". the bun was just off frozen and the taste of the burger was horrific, if you think that was bad enough, the drumstick (I left that in the counter freezer while I 'ate' my meal) when I collected it at the end of trying to eat the burger, well it was soft and almost running out of the cone. Will I ever go into a Hungry Jacks again, NO WAY, I did not eat the burger. I have now had a couple of times where I have called into various Hungry Jacks outlets and I have been constantly disappointed in the quality of the products served to me, usually the temperature of the food. I truly believe Hungry Jacks are letting themselves down by thinking people will accept substandard food. Well, I am voting with my feet and will never go into a Hungry Jacks ever again. At least McDonalds have repect for their product and maintain much higher standards
I recently visited Daisy May's Coffee Boutique in Edge Hill for lunch with a colleague. On first impressions, the cafe has a modern feel in a prime position in the classier end of town. As we entered, we were greeted by unique, instantly relaxing decor and friendly smiles from the staff and manager. I had a burger (I think it was called "The Highway Burger" which comprised of a big, juicy, tasty beef patty, swiss cheese and a couple of (portobello?) mushrooms. The accompanying hot chips also tasted great. We sampled a handful of sweets from the cabinet to take back to the office to share with our colleagues and were told that they were all delivered fresh each morning from their very own French pasty chef. Of the three desserts that I tried - each of them were absolute HEAVEN. (Chocolate Mousse Slice, Triple Choc Brownie [GF] and Pistacio Cheesecake).I cannot fault Daisy May's on anything. The atmosphere was great, food was DEVINE and the prices were very reasonable. Above all, the staff were friendly, efficient and we didn't have to wait very long for our food.
Went here for the first time last week... was in the smoking area and a young girl rudely interrupted our conversation (couldn't remember what she asked, although she looked frustrated), then rolled her eyes and literally slammed the door to go inside... Another worker asked a girl she was serving 'you got money for these drinks?' Seems like a bit of a stupid question when she's holding cash in her hand... that lady didn't seem happy about her question and rightly so... Walked in the bathrooms to find somebody power chucked all over the toilet and on the wall... that doesn't bother me because it's not their fault, but it took a while for them to attend to the problem. Don't think I'll be going back there anytime soon... or ever lol
