We arrived fairly late to Apollo Bay on a Sunday afternoon so went on the search for some decent takeaway. We'd seen reviews on Georges and thought it was worth a shot. The pizza menu was a bit plain, but we settled for a hawaiian, the lot and a souvlaki pizza. All three were disappointing. The base was super thin, the toppings slid right off and it was poorly cut. The man serving had a couldn't be bothered attitude. At the end counter we were going to order chicken and chips but they'd run out of chicken and it was only 5.30pm. We still got the chips and they were delicious. Not too salty and tasted like mashed potato on the inside. We'd go back, but only for the chips.
Although tucked around the corner from the main street, the food here is amazing as is the service. Take the time to find this place, it has to be one of the best places in Apollo Bay and we have enjoyed a number of restaurants here - needs to become number one in this small town.
they were quite fresh and large portions (we have tried the Singapore noodles and the middle greens with rice), but especially the noodles tasted quite boring, as not many seasoned were used. really cool is that they have a full self-service purgable with a [censored] tonne hot sauces yet I would not go back if there are better options open
It's more 2.5 out of 5. My wife and I ate here by default as part of a Great Ocean Road bus tour. We ordered from a selected menu on the bus as we approached Apollo Bay. Upon arrival to Thaihouse, we got our warm chicken and rice lunches handed to us in small tupperware style containers from a friendly and smiling lady. The food we ordered wasn't bad, but then again we were hungry from our journey all morning, but not really satisfied either after we finished. I ended up finishing my wife's portion she gave me. Also, the Thai food wasn't very spicy either as you might think. We ended our lunch around the corner at Dooley's Ice Cream, which has delicious gelato. If I had a choice, I probably wouldn't eat at Thaihouse again.
