This place has never disappointed me. The same agreeable people, good food, reasonable prices, and good quick service. We're lucky it's there, among the plethora of here today, gone tomorrow eateries in this area.

I had the super breakfast, bacon, eggs, baked beans etc and I would rate it as very good and when you consider the price was about $10 you would struggle to get better value anywhere in AUS let alone toorak. The menu was quite extensive and I will be going back to sample more of it.Well worth a try great value food and service with a smile.

I dropped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The service was good and friendly. The meal was prompt, well prepared and fresh, and was not overpriced. The meal (photo below) was classic Indonesian, not too spicy and tasty.

My wife and I had a special breakfast at this Indonesian restaurant on Toorak Rd Sth Yarra. She had the Nasi Goreng and I had the Mie Goreng. Food was excellent and inexpensive and brought back memories of our time in Indonesia. The owner was an older gentleman from Surabaya who came to Australia to study at RMIT many years ago. Totally wonderful experience.

Amidst a sea of trendy caf├ęs in Toorak Rd, we end up going to Krakatoa regularly because:(A) it's damned good value(B) love the pancakes, omelettes, salads and coffee (ie the food is real good)(C) great service(D) happy place with newspapers to read if one doesn't feel like conversing I'm a little worried by writing this that everyone will figure out what a superb find it is, and I'll never again get a table. But it does deserve your custom. Top spot lads and lassies. Go give it a try.
