Had to think hard about whether I wanted to write this review or not. The selfish side of me said "No don't ! Keep it a secret" but its too good not to share. Located in the upstairs section of the old Craigmoor winery (now Oatley Wines) with old tables of various sizes sits this gem. The team have obviously smartened the place up,( it was getting that run down look in its previous life). We went for Saturday lunch which is a simpler affair than the Sunday Roast. For $24 there is a superb spread to select from. Lots of pickled and fermented products, local High Valley fetta, couple of other non local cheeses and preserved meats but possibly everything else is house made and delicious. I think the hot dishes would vary daily but there was a nice Thai Green curry and great chicken, leek and potato roll. The housemade sourdough was a light rye with a crunchy crust, so nice had to have a couple of pieces. To complete the meal there was cheese as mentioned and a plate of beautifully ripe rock melon and honeydew melon. You can have a glass of wine (or a bottle if you like and are not driving), a beer of coffee or tea with your lunch if you like (extra cost). Also if you can fit in there is a good range of gelato and ice cream for $4 a scoop.Service is good and friendly but not overbearing. Seats are also available outside.Cant wait to get back here for another lunch.

Had an amazing lunch! Our waiter Nelson was a superstar! He catered towards our every need and looked after the kids by getting them some delicious ice cream! Food was fantastic and we loved the variety! All it was fresh and presented beautiful. The roast pork was next level tasty!

We visited Craigmoor for a Sunday lunch with a big group of friends which included small children. There is a small area with toys/books which the kids were encouraged to play with. We were well looked after by the attentive staff and encouraged to try the wines and whatever we would like from the very impressive buffet of roasted meats, veg, salads, antipasto and deserts. Perfect place for a lazy long lunch!

The Caramelised Onion and Tomato Tart I ordered for lunch was served with a fresh, crispy salad with a wonderful dressing. The tart pastry was light and flaked easily. We also had great coffee. The desserts and gelato were very tempting, but we had dinner reservations so did not try this time. I would be very happy to return. The service was welcoming. The ambiance was rustic but very spacious and comfortable.

Today decided to do a Sunday bike ride . After a few up hill slogs we decided to call into Craigmoor for a beer. We thought they only did Sunday roasts. To our surprise they offered us the antipasto smorgasbord option with a lovely light rose. Perfect as we had quite a cycle to get home. The food was fabulous, fresh and generous. They serve beautiful rustic bread baked on the premises . Sam even gave us a serving of the delicious dessert they were serving with the main course. Congratulations Kim and Sam on a wonderful new venture another fantastic assets to the Mudgee culinary scene. We will definitely be recommending this to others and will be back.

Taken over by Kim Currie from the Zin house 1st January, new lunch spread is on offer. $48 pp includes 3 courses plus bread in a family style self-serve buffet situation. All the fantastic freshness of her usual food but in a Sunday roast style. Great value, superb ingredients, excellent, friendly, accommodating staff. You start with homemade bread and butter and a dip, then the antipasto, which you help yourself to as little or as much as you like, same goes for the main, which is a roast of the day with all the trimmings but in a modern way, like usual potatoes, but sweet potatoes, zucchini mix, composed salad, cauliflower cheese inside a field mushroom, stuffing with currants, pilau rice, plus more, more, more with some sweet and spicy sauces on the side like Devil's, which was great, tons of gravy. Then if you can fit dessert in there are 4 cakes and 4 gelato to choose from or take a few. Good wine list. Highly recommended for good value, top quality food you can graze through. It will be great to see how this develops.
